While Grand Cathay is the largest human empire found in the Warhammer world, they are relatively detached from the western side of the map and haven’t featured all that heavily in the tabletop game and lore building by Games Workshop… up until now. What’s going to be interesting is how this ties in with the world that has been constructed through the Total War: Warhammer trilogy. Grand Cathay can also lean on the mystical and supernatural in order to defend the Great Bastion, animating towering Sentinel statues, and their rulers able to turn into epic looking dragons as they fight off the forces of chaos in the reveal trailer. Ruled over by the Celestial Dragon Emperor and the Moon Empress, it is a mysterious, but militaristically advanced land with flying ships, huge ornate cannons and rocket infantry. Ymwrath the Eternal – This Star Dragon has Lizardmen elite as its guardians.Inspired by Imperial China, the Grand Cathay empire lies even further to the east of the Warhammer fantasy world than the Russia-inspired Kislev. Gordinar, Champion of the Flame – This Sun Dragon has the Tomb Kings to help out - and four phoenixes too. Lamoreaux, the Frozen Breath – This Moon Dragon brings the icy fury of Norsca. Bruwor, Protector of Life – This Forest Dragon is surrounded by its Wood Elf pals. Shackolot the Calamity – This Black Dragon brings some Vampire Counts and Dark Elf monstrosities. These battles will be quite a challenge since you’ll be duking it out against unique dragons named Ymwrath, Lamoreaux, Shackolot, Bruwor, and Gordinar. This High Elven warrior has the Dragon Taming mechanic filled with several Dragon Encounters. For an FLC lord, Prince Imrik truly has one of the most exciting campaigns in Total War: Warhammer II.
